Adelaide Hills Backpackers

The Adelaide Hills Backpackers is now located in Kersbrook.

After 5 years in Gumeracha, the AHB has expanded and moved into bigger and better premises, on a rural property in Kersbrook called Gumhaven.

Kersbrook is a town near Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the Adelaide Hills Council local government area. Kersbrook itself has a population of around 500 with many more in the surrounding area.

Set in the rolling hills, the town is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, orchards and farmland. The population is a mixture of long-standing residents connected to farming, horticulture or viticulture, and commuters working in the metropolitan area.

People of the town are proud of the town’s heritage, community spirit and friendly welcoming atmosphere.

Kersbrook, and it’s surrounding towns, are home to many orchards including apples, pears, cherries, olives, tomatoes , zucchinis, strawberries and to countless vineyards used for the manufacture of wine.

There’s a greater chance of getting a job if you come and stay in the area, farmers are less likely to employ you if you’re sending emails from the city. We have guests staying with us all year long doing all of the harvesting of the above fruits and veggies as well as hay bailing, meat process plant and general labouring.

There are many seasonal work opportunities for backpackers wishing to earn money and qualify for their 2nd year visa … just come up and to the hills, we’re only 30 minutes from the metro area.

Here’s a link to the 2nd year visa form.
